Very important message. I came to New York in 1978 as an artist, moments before the AIDS crisis took hold. The ‘80s were a terrifying and exciting period. While so many queer voices were snuffed out forever, an unmeasurable loss, a radical queer voice was also born. My visual art and writing today are continually shaped by that experience. Thanks for this. From a queer artist elder.
