I’m a queer, visual artist and writer and older-than-you white dude here, frustrated with Medium’s emphasis on articles that start with: ‘How to…,’ ‘How I…,’ ‘Five ways to…,’ ‘Why you need…,’ etc. etc. Tho I’m a top writer for Art and LGBTQ, the message from editors is often “ What are the main points / takeaways for the reader? They seem less interested in creative nonfiction, literary stories. Where are the stories on Medium? Am I imagining there is a deficit?
